Values and Beliefs

What we believe

Here’s a simple summary of what we believe:

There is one God who exists eternally as Father, Word, and Holy Spirit
God is perfect and good. He has always existed and created everything
Jesus is the Word made flesh, fully God and fully man who lived a perfect life, died and rose again
The Holy Spirit is active today in the world and through God’s people

The first people, Adam and Eve, turned away from God and brought sin into the world
Because of that, everything is now broken, including us
All of us have sinned and stand guilty before God

The local church is a family of believers who commit to one another and walk together
Every believer is commanded to be baptised and to remember Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection through the Lord’s Supper
We gather on Sundays to worship Jesus as King
We believe in prayer, spiritual gifts, and God moving in real ways today

Government is a gift from God, but our highest loyalty is to Jesus
Marriage, family, and singleness are all good gifts to be lived out God’s way
We believe God created men and women in His image, with equal worth and dignity
We believe sex and marriage are designed by God for a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman
Every person is made in God’s image and has dignity from in the womb to death
All of us, in different ways, have gone our own way from God’s design and need His grace

Every person will face either eternal life or eternal judgment
Jesus will return, make all things new, and bring lasting peace and joy to His people
